In this role you will effectively lead and develop an Equipment Team. Ensuring optimal equipment utilization in line with REP/PLP flow plan to ensure we are providing the most reliable and efficient service to our customers at the lowest possible cost, covering the forecasted equipment needs. Plans, develops and implements the global equipment strategy and positioning flow plan. Develop, implement and maintain existing strategy to create sustainable unit cost savings.

Key responsibilities
Drive effective team structure through good leadership, setting of clear goals, coaching and developing team members.
Deliver stocks and inventory control at inland locations/ports that meet planned export bookings and adhere to REP/PLP and SEP flow requirements.
Handle daily stock monitoring per depot / port to ensure proactive planning is delivered.
Ensure pools / depots are delivering on their agreed Target stocks levels.
Ensure supply / evacuation planning to/from inland pools/ports correctly and timely updated in related system(s).
Maintain ROCK OTT’s for Water Side Terminal evacuation in line with REP/PLP and SEP requirements.
Ensure plans are agreed with CAP/MAR prior deadline set and ensure plans are executed.
Establish most cost effective alternative flow planning in case of equipment shortages.
Monitor/Drive and Deliver on Smart Ops Savings Targets.
Ensure visibility of EQU hotpots and cost exposure across LOC to drive required focus.
Ensure no intra LOC EQU positioning is executed before completing a cost benefit analysis with the assistance of the FBP team.
Manage and develop relationships with relevant internal external stakeholders within geographical scope through the fostering of close interaction.
Initiate and drive E2E equipment related cost saving initiatives, including but not limited to equipment storage, flow execution and upgrades within area of responsibility.
Increase the available global fleet by eliminating long standings and improving equipment dwell times.
Own and drive all projects pertaining to equipment within AFRLOC scope.
We are looking for
At least 3 years’ experience in Shipping Industry or handling Operations responsibilities.
Understanding of the Operational business processes across the region as well as basic knowledge of Operational concepts internally and externally.
Detail oriented, with sharp numerical and problem-solving skills.
Strong process oriented approach to work and excellent attention to detail.
Resilient team player who is goal-orientated and demonstrates a high level of commitment with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Leadership experience would be an advantage.
Excellent Written and Verbal skills with people at all levels across the organisation in English.
High sense of urgency.
