Job Description:
The Procurement officer will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors and coordinating a network of procurement officers in various subsidiaries across South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique and Zambia. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable and certified suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Structuring and animating of a network of buyers within the various legal entities by defining and implementing fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies.
Communicating monthly reports, analyses & recommendations to the financial director as well cost savings/avoidance.
Analyse the financial impact of proposed changes.
Maintain the supplier database on the system for all business units & manage the contracts.
Monitor export and cross trade processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
Source suppliers and negotiate deals with optimal terms (price, mode of shipping, and delivery time).
Responsible for the purchase order system maintenance and harmonization within the various legal entities.
Implementing & maintaining inventories systems within the various branches
Ensure all the procurement internal controls / procedures & the code of Ethics are applied and followed.
Manage the supply chain to maximize BEE preferential procurement & assist during audits.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
Strong procurement experience (3 years +) in a procurement focused role.
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
Experience of inventories management
