Modelling & Data Solutions (Actuarial / Coding / Programming) – Cpt, South Africa

Responsibilities:

Finding and implementing solutions for modelling & reporting challenges (especially for IFRS17)

Designing, implementing & maintaining appropriate IT solutions in support of the actuarial reporting function

Designing and maintaining databases for the management of all actuarial reporting data

Working on projects spanning several business units

Identifying opportunities for standardisation and improved efficiency through automation or process changes

Training & supervising others in modelling & processes

Implementing & maintaining data and model governance

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

2 or more years of applicable work experience demonstrating competency

Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to design appropriate models and IT / process solutions to address business requirements

Strong programming skills (exposure to Prophet, C#, SQL, DCS, VBA, etc. would be a distinct advantage)

Demonstrable database skills

Passion for models, programming, IT & data

Strong analytical skills

Competence in Actuarial Finance or Financial Mathematics

A deadline driven and highly motivated approach

Initiative

Ability to work independently, as well as in a team
