Job Description:
Our client is a multinational mining services company who require a Head of Departmental Manager. Their main purpose is to Increase and concrete the opportunities of business of Mine Plan Compliance (MPC) Consulting Initiatives in Africa. This role provides management to successful implementation of consulting services, manages Customer Value projects regionally, supports product development process through requirements definition, and supports sales/marketing initiatives. This role also makes high quality management decisions ensuring strategic business goals and objectives are achieved. Finally, this role provides consultancy based on a thorough understanding of the mine processes involved, working across functions to understand processes and systems involved. This role reports directly into the Customer Services Director.
Manage the Mining Consulting Solution activities, providing a client performance tracking
Visits to mine sites and meet decision making Managers and strategic stakeholders, as frequently as it is a business needed
Update clients on the Company’s consulting solution updates and associated benefits
Anticipates what internal and external stakeholders must know about support issues/requests, and provides the information to relevant stakeholders
Uncover early business opportunities and update clients on new product/software releases
Keep a proper a permanent intra departmental relationships
Internally reporting consulting services performance
Provide support to strategic global Performance Assurance processes
Solicits client feedback to improve service
Meets commitments
Makes special efforts to ensure that customers are satisfied
Develops and implements cost saving measure
Contributes to profits and revenue
Conserves organizational resources
Develop and maintain delivery of consulting service processes
Studies and applies “Lean” and Continuous Improvement concepts to customer operations
Assists Sales team for sales of consulting services
Assists with development of customer success of stories for marketing and sales
Support the One Team integration process among Komatsu Ltd, KMC, Modular and the dealers of Komatsu and KMC, participating actively
Performs analysis to develop pragmatic / practical solutions to address clients’ business needs
Utilizes appropriate interpersonal and technical skills to support analysis, and to develop partnerships with clients to solve problems
Maintains confidentiality and exercises professional ethics in all interventions
Utilizes other resources, as necessary, to meet client requirements
Meets strategic objectives through the effective management and utilization of staff
Recruits, selects, and retains high-performing staff
Proactively identifies and develops potential successors for key positions
Clearly articulates performance objectives and requirements to staff
Assigns responsibilities that effectively challenge and utilize team member skills
Establishes procedures to monitor activities of staff
Is visible and in touch with staff
Conducts effective and timely performance and development reviews
Recognizes and rewards performance and improvement
Applies SPIN methodology to uncover and address customer needs Maintains existing accounts (account plans, route maps, etc.)
Protects and increases revenues
Coordinates with internal Company resources to solve problems
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
Preferred degree in Mining Engineering
MBA beneficial
Must possess a Mine Managers Certificate of Competency and a Blasting Certificate
15 – 20 years total working experience, coupled with proven experience in management roles within mining industry operationally, mine planning or mine technology
Preferred previous experience as manager, principal consultant
Mine technology development, deployment and Mining Services previous experience
Must have strong strategic knowledge and change management experience
Strong interpersonal skills, leadership capabilities, results driven etc.
Additional core competencies: Ethics; Decisiveness/judgment; professionalism; adaptability; client service; customer value; account management; business acumen
Technical and business understanding of the intelligent mining sofrware

Corporate Office based but will involve travel when required
