Group Chief Financial Officer (Accounting / FMCG / Reporting / Budgeting) – Johannesburg

Job Description:

Our client is currently seeking an experience financial professional with a CA (SA) qualification, who passed the board exams on the first try, and completed their articles with one of the Big4 firms. The successful candidate will be accountable for the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the group including the development of financial strategies.

Key Performance Indicators:

IFRS compliance and Tax compliance

Development and monitoring of systems and internal controls designed to protect company assets, quantify company liabilities and report accurate financial results

Hedging

Budgeting principles, processes and standards

Long range forecasting

Management accounting processes and standards

Audit (internal and external) management & Risk management

Capex control & Treasury management

Control of financial liabilities

Compliance with legislation and King 4

Compliance with debt instrument requirements

Monitoring of acquisitions to ensure proper integration & Ensure cost containment and efficiencies

Oversight and assistance with acquisitions including ensuring investment process, due diligence and final investment proposals meet the group requirement and deadlines

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

Qualified CA(SA) – not negotiable, ideally having passed their boards on the first attempt

Must have completed their articles at a Big Four firm

Must have been in commerce (Retail, FMCG etc) for at least 10 to 15 years. Services industry experience is an advantage

Must have current experience in a FD role or senior FM role

Technically strong from an accounting perspective
