Job Description:

A global company specializing in IT infrastructure maintenance is currently seeking junior and senior Technical Support Engineers/Specialists to join their ever-expanding team. The role will be to ensure that clients IT systems are up-to-date and running at the highest levels by providing technical support through 3rd party IT Maintenance services. This role has a large focus on server maintenance and thus the ideal candidate would have extensive knowledge in this regards.

Responsibilities:

Work on cases routed by dispatchers, using logs provided by customers to start diagnosing the issue, asking for additional logs and command results if needed

Establish a diagnosis after case reception, or trigger appropriate case escalation

Create action plan to remedy to the issue, based on existing AP data base, but customized to meet customer specific situation

Assist remote technicians executing the Action Plan, providing support for additional questions, maintaining ownership and accountability, or in some cases executing the Action Plan yourself on the customers premises.

Maintain current knowledge of new products, upgrades and features.

Interact with Sales, Accounting, Dispatch and L3 organizations to ensure customer issues were addressed and resolved.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as OEM guidance documents, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to effectively address groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, CIS or MIS, Electrical Engineering

2 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Knowledge of Servers, Storage and Networks environment (Sun Solaris, HP, IBM, EMC, Cisco, Unix)

Systems administration knowledge (Unix, Linux and/or Windows Servers)

Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS)

know how to extract logs from various systems in area of expertise (Sun explorers, EMC SP collect, HP ADU etc.)

Working knowledge of Local Area Networks and Internetworking Protocols (IP).

Working knowledge of routers, switches, hubs and general network design.
