Insurance Officer, Johannesburg – South Africa (posting number req1980)
IFC’s Insurance Services Group is looking to recruit an Insurance Officer with expertise across a broad range of industry sectors, such as Infrastructure and Natural Resources, Manufacturing, Agribusiness, Health Service, Technology, and Financial Markets.
Scope of work:
Will evaluate and monitor the insurance coverages of IFC’s investments; – Provide guidance to internal and external clients providing risk and insurance management value-added services; – Draft sustainable risk transfer proposal and insurance provisions in legal investment documentation; – Negotiate insurance coverage with sponsors and contribute to the development of local insurance markets.
Qualifications:
– Advanced university degree and 6+ years’ experience in the insurance industry;
– Knowledge in sophisticated construction, operational phase insurance and key lender insurance requirements related to project finance;
– Operational or consultancy experience in emerging countries including contract reviews and negotiations;
– Ability to multi-task in a global organization; – strong team player;
– Excellent oral and written English skills with good presentation skills: fluency in second language, preferably French, Arabic.
