Svitzer Angola Lda. requires an innovative supply chain professional to take ownership of the end-to-end procurement and logistics support for its fleet of 11 vessels.
Based in Soyo, Angola and reporting to the Technical Manager, this position will suit an experienced Supply chain professional with an international mind-set.
The role requires excellent sourcing skills, good negotiation capabilities, process driven approach and team driven mindset.We operate a lean and flat organisational structure with a mind-set of autonomy creating a performance driven culture that allows you significant independence to impact the value of your position and ultimately the performance of our company.
You will be supported in your tasks by the existing Angola operations team as well as the Svitzer MEA (Middle East and Africa) Regional Procurement Team based in Dubai, UAE.
A network of experienced procurement and logistics colleagues across various geographies within the Region are your go-to peers for sparring and mutual guidance. The MEA Region currently operates vessels in ports and terminals in India, Egypt, Angola, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Bangladesh and Morocco and is shortlisted for large projects in other geographies.

Key responsibilities
• Understand the Purchase to Pay process and drive the same in Svitzer Angola
• Source local and international vendors for vessel requirements
• Ensure timely delivery of commodities onboard vessels
• Custom clearance of goods received from International Locations
• Warehouse Management – Complete inventory management with stock control
• Cost leadership without compromise in qualityTrack the arrival, confirmation and goods received status of incoming shipments, and ensure that the correct amount of the product or service is receive at the appropriate time;
• Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service support, availability, reliability and selection;
• Review catalogs, industry and company publications, directories, websites;
• Responsible for placing orders after the necessary approvals;
• Keeps records pertaining to items purchased, costs, delivery;
• Resolves conflicts between vendor and SVITZER regarding product defects, shortages, and/or untimely deliveries;
• Liaise with authorities and freight forwarding companies to ensure the timely and low cost logistics of spares and consumables;
• Provide documentation and administrative support to the Operations as directed;
• Assist in the upkeep of the Sertica procurement and PM databases;
• The timely provision of Fuel Oil and Fresh Water as and when requested by all craft;
• The timely provision of all stores and victuals as required by all craft;
• Ensure all procurement is completed following Maersk Group code of business practices.
We are looking for
Required / Preferred Education
• Certification in Purchasing / Logistics
• Previous experience of at least 2/3 years in marine/ industrial purchasing
• Experience in working on a ERP Platform
• Warehouse management experience preferred
Training and competencies
• Logistics experience in Angola
• MS Office suite
Personal Attributes
• Fast learner, high computer literacy and self-managed. To be successful in the role requires the use of multiple Company software platforms (training is provided by Svitzer in the use of these systems).
• MS Office suite (excel, word, Powerpoint).
• Pro-active and well organized.
• Able to work well under pressure and highly motivated.
• Fluency in both written and oral English.
• High level of professionalism, honesty and integrity
• Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills
