Job Description:
Direct reporting line to Affiliate HSE Manager.
HSE Advisor has a dual reporting responsibility to the Operations Director
HSE Advisor will form a key part of the operations team to offer guidance and assistance in operational HSE related matters.
Responsibilities:
Assist the HSE Manager to contribute to the safe and successfully delivery of the project HSE Objectives
Assist the operational team to develop and implement the HSE objectives for the campaign
Attend and assist to organize HSE meetings as required
Implement and assist operational teams to comply with the project HSE plan
HSE Management
Contribute to the development and implementation of an affiliate HSE management system to follow all legal and group requirements
Contribute and promote the HSE Leadership principles of the company and project
Monitor compliance to the HSE management system through regular audits and inspections
Risk management
Assist and guide operational teams in the company risk management system
Implement and apply pro-active risk management system for all activities
Assist operational teams to continuously monitor and control risks in order to mitigate risks to ALARP
Emergency preparedness
Assist in the implantation and improvement of the affiliate emergency response capability
Ensure regular drills conducted in order to test and improve the emergency contingency plans
Event reporting
Ensure reporting and investigations ate conducted for all events related to the project
Operational Accountability
Oversee and manage the Affiliate training requirements and matrix
Work closely with contractors to ensure compliance to project requirements
Development and assistance with bridging documents for all sites
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
7 years HSE experience
Offshore O&G experience
Knowledge of RSA Mine Health and Safety Act an advantage
Experience in RSA mining and or marine environments advantage
Diploma or higher education
Exposure to
ISO standards
Audits and inspections
Training
Environmental management plans
Risk management
Emergency response and control
Incident investigation techniques
Behavior safety programs
Experience with working with contractors
HSE administration
