Fonds Révérend Père Patrice Pharand (FFIÉÉO) (762220101181)
INTRODUCTION
While Director of Sports Services at the University of Ottawa, Luc Gélineau (MPE ‘79, MBA ‘89) created this fund to recognize the generosity and unconditional commitment of Father Patrice Pharand. Throughout his priesthood, Father Pharand helped those in need and was a constant source of inspiration for his family and his community. The donor thanks the Alumni Association of the University of Ottawa and the Government of Ontario for their matching contributions.
PURPOSE OF FUND
To provide financial assistance to students athletes whose education would otherwise be compromised.
SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must:
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with the protected/refugee status;
- be registered as a full-time student athlete (as determined by the SUO and USports), and a member of an interuniversity Gee-Gees program, with preference for hockey, at the University of Ottawa;
- be an Ontario resident as per OSAP[2] rules; and
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa.
