UN Groupe bancaire régional recrute un Directeur Financier et Comptable

A Regional banking group (« Group ») based in Senegal is seeking a strong individual lo lead the finance depart­ment of the head-office in Dakar. The Group CFO is responsible for overseeing, reporting, and continually improving all aspects of the finance operation of the entire Group.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the finance strategy, business plan, budget of the holding company and its subsidiaries in accordance with the overall strategy of the Group;
  • Develops adequate policies, procedures and proccss for the finance Function  in order to achieve the Group’s overall strategic objectives;
  • Manages the operations of the treasury, financial planning and budgeting, and accounting so as to encourage optimum utilization of its services and resources by the entire Group;
  • Monitor financial performance versus budget/policies. process and control effectiveness, and identify market trends and their effect on the business;
  • Establish a cost accounting system for the shared services of die group and ensure fair billing and full recoverability of head office expenses;
  • Establish a reporting system for the Group and developing a financial dashboard to exercise a proactive oversight over the subsidiary banks;
  • Provide technical assistance and support to the subsidiaries’ finance departments;
  • Proactively involve in initiatives to create synergies and strengthen the financial soundness of the Group;
  • Contributes to the Group’s overall business strategy development and implementation through sound financial advisory and leadership;
  • Execute and lead all Group monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes to meet all internal and external report­ing requirements;
  • Liaise and manage the relationships with the firm’s external auditors
Desired Profile:
The ideal candidate for this position will be a mature, experienced professional with in-depth accounting, financial and banking operational experience and have at least 5 years’ experience as a senior finance officer in a bank. The successful candidate would have the following profile;
  • Bachelor degree in Financé Accounting and MBA is a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience; 5 of which in  executive-level managing finance & accounting in a bank or Audit Firm. Experience in African Banking Group will be a plus
  • Professional Certification (i.e. CPA, CFA and CMA) is a plus
  • Excellent technical knowledge of IFRS und IAS and preferably SYSCOA and PCB as well
  • Experience in establishing internal control system and accounting and reporting functions
  • Superior ability in analyzing business performance and offer remedial actions
  • Strong business sense with a strategic, conceptual and operational orientation
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English, other international languages will be plus.
