The Finance Coordinator will be responsible for successful financial management of the DFID funded U-LEARN consortium project. Reporting directly to the Consortium Manager for the U-LEARN project, and as part of the senior management team of the consortium, the Finance Coordinator will ensure that financial expenditure and reporting is undertaken in line with donor requirements and commitments.
The Finance Coordinator will be responsible for providing accounting services for the consortium, leading financial and budgetary management, setting in place and following up financial collaboration and coordination with partners, and overseeing financial reporting obligations to the member and donor.
The job holder will be:
Providing accounting services
Leading financial and budgetary management of the Consortium
Setting in place and following up financial collaboration and coordination with the partners
Ensuring reporting and grant management
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Business Administration from a recognized university.
MUST be a member of an Accounting professional body with qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICSA etc.
At least of 5 years relevant progressive working experience working with International NGOs in a humanitarian and development setting, of which 3 years should be at finance management level
Experience working with a consortium or other projects with multiple partners
Solid communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Highly developed organizational, planning, and mathematical skills
Demonstrated ability to critically analyze financial data to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies
Audit experience and knowledge and application of tax regulation is desirable
