The Opportunity
 Save the Children with support from the Embassy of Ireland in Malawi, will be implementing Pathways for Strengthened Resilience and Graduation (P4R) among Social Cash Transfer Programme Beneficiaries in Ntcheu District. SCI with support from the Embassy of Ireland in Malawi will be implementing Pathways for Strengthened Resilience and Graduation among Social Cash Transfer Programme Beneficiaries in Ntcheu District.
The post holder will be responsible for providing technical leadership and implementation of P4R in Ntcheu in the aspect of Economic Empowerment (EE). The main out puts under EE are: (1) “5580 SCTP households are supported with resilience-building activities so that those with productive capacity can graduate into other forms of support in future and those without are better protected against future shocks” and (2) “3500 Adolescents are supported with training in life skills, vocational and enterprise skills, sexual and reproductive health and linked to employment opportunities and youth support systems”. The project has various components including FS & Livelihoods, Disaster Risk Reduction, Economic empowerment, Gender & Communications, Nutrition and capacity building initiatives.
Requirements
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
At least degree level qualification in Agriculture Economics, Rural Development, Social Sciences, International Development Studies and other relevant field.
Those with Master degree in the related field will have an added advantage.
Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving.
Demonstrated commitment to develop, acquire, document and apply best practices in related fields, and apply solutions to obstacles.
Experience in working with local NGO partners.
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills including facilitation.
Demonstrated supervision skills
Good interpersonal skills
Good command of English (written and verbal)
Self-starter
Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles
Have at least 3 years of experience in Food Security, Livelihoods, EE and youth initiatives programming.
Prior experience of delivering cash transfer programmes
Highly numerically articulate with a record of accomplishment of data manipulation and reporting systems.
Result-oriented, able to set priorities and meet deadlines within a dynamic environment
Mature and able to function well within flat management structures with extensive consultation and horizontal collaboration
Proven ability to follow procedures, meet team objectives and work independently and cooperatively with team members and diverse groups of people including government departments.
Humanitarian context experience highly preferred.
Motor cycle riding experience with a valid riding licence.
