Will the intern be receiving a stipend?: Yes

Description of internship project:

Help ensuring continuous finance management at PATH
Assist the Senior Finance Officer in daily financial tasks required

Internship goals and learning objectives/benefit to the intern:
Improve his knowledge in finance and accounting
Understand how financials operations are handled in a NGO environment
Work with professionals in a dynamic and motivational working environment
Improve his/her skills in finance and accounting
Assist the Senior Finance Officer in several tasks
Get more experience in working in a bilingual environment

Skills to be developed and/or expanded during internship:

Finance and accounting
Account analysis
Advance reconciliation

Proposed activities:

Work with professionals in a dynamic and motivational working environment
Maintain records in Quickbooks
Help in managing PATH Senegal asset register and invoice logsheet
Participate in monthly finance report
Support in analyzing balance sheet accounts
Finance officer Health Equity Internship Public Health Reconciliation

Learning outcomes (how the Intern’s performance will be evaluated):

We will evaluate how the intern will perform accounting activities with a minimal of supervision.

Required skills and experience:

Ability to work in a team environment.
Organized, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
Good problem solving skills.
Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in French and English
An advanced degree in Finance, accounting or related field.
Previous experience in a nonprofit organization is preferred
Previous experience in working with QuickBooks is preferred
All PATH internships are eligible for school credit. Please refer to your university’s process for credit eligibility.*
Must have legal authorization to work in Senegal.
