It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies.

Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations.

MdM currently works in more than 40 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority areas: emergency and crisis, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, migrants and displaced populations (health rights), health and environment.

In response to the latest crisis, MdM has been operational in Dohuk Governorate since November 2014, in Kirkuk Governorate since July 2015, and Ninewa Governorate since April 2016, supporting IDPs, returnees and host communities in getting access to Primary Health Care services. MdM delivers today a comprehensive health response in areas of intervention, including Mental Health and Psychosocial Support at primary care level.

In 2019, MdM is transitioning its response towards support to the national health system in areas of intervention across northern Iraq (Dohuk, Kirkuk and Ninewa Governorates). Mobile clinics and teams were transformed wherever possible into support of existing Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities, in close cooperation with local health local authorities and the Ministry of Health.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the general coordinator, your main responsibilities are to :

Reporting and proposal writing
-Ensure the production of concept notes, proposals and donor reports
-Contribute to ensure systematic adherence to donor guidelines, compliance and strategic orientations, among which visibility policy
-Ensure development and dissemination of contractual commitments made to donors (grants opening meetings, grants closure meetings)
-Contribute to ensure that donor indicators are consistent and compliant with the scope of the activities and harmonized for all programs
-Ensure data provided for reporting on project performances are in line with donor requirement
-Contribute to ensure consistency, quality and coherence between narrative, budget and all related annexes
-Ensure timely submission of reporting and proposals to HQ/donors
-Ensure the permanent liaison with the regional grants manager and contribute to keep up to date the grants tracker
-Whenever relevant, attend donor meetings, record and disseminate the information shared
-Prepare and consolidate information for platform, donor, partners

Internal & external communication
-Produce and properly disseminate the situation report (SITREP) by collecting and compiling all relevant mission information on monthly basis
-Contribute to ensure the preparation and organization of the coordination meetings/workshops
-Produce and properly disseminate minutes of meetings (MoM)
-Ensure proper circulation of grants related information within the mission
-Support the mission coordination teams on ensuring dissemination and filing (soft and hard copies) of all project documentation in the mission
-Support the regular production of program communication document such as maps, briefing, videos…

Support to general coordination
-Update mission documentation, such as Welcome guides and others
-Support MdM Iraq strategy and context analysis documentation formalization
-Research and collect any useful information and data relating to the positioning of MdM
-Ensuring information sharing and archiving support for mission documentation

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Status : Volunteer – VSI Contract : Volunteer – VSI (French status)
Duration : 6 months

Starting date: 15th of July
915 euros / month + perdiem : 592 USD / month

2 paid leaves / months for contracts of 6 months or more

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Master’s degree in social sciences or related field – master’s in public health is an asset
Experience in project cycle management, M&E and accountability mechanisms is an asset
Prior experience with international NGO mandatory (international field and/or HQ)
Previous experience with international donors reporting an advantage
Proficient in the use of MS Office Package

Reactivity, anticipation, adaptability
Willing to live and work in a place with tense conditions
Ability to manage shifting priorities
Strong communication and diplomacy skills
Languages: fluent English
