Under the overall guidance of the Representative, the Chief is responsible for managing and supervising all stages of social policy programing and related advocacy from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of concrete and sustainable results.

This encompasses both direct programme work with government and civil society partners as well as linkages and support to teams working on education, health, child protection, water and sanitation, and HIV. S/he leads a group of professional and support staff to develop and manage the Social Policy programme in country.

The Chief of Social Policy will lead the Social Policy in UNICEF Senegal.

Duration of Contract : 2 years renewable

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• Advanced university degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or other relevant disciplines.

• Minimum of eight years of relevant professional work experience is required.

• Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered a strong asset.

• Fluency in French and English (verbal and written) are required. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.
