Job SummaryThe Poverty Health and Nutrition Division of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as an Administrative/Events Assistant. This is a part-time one-year non-exempt, renewable appointment based in Dakar, Senegal. The Administrative/Events Assistant will lead the logistical arrangements of planning, organising, and implementing a series of training courses for the Transform Nutrition West Africa project. The position is part-time (50%) and will require a high level of flexibility and time management throughout the year according to the course calendar. Interested applicants must have work authorization to work in Senegal. Essential Duties: Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Planning and Coordination Manage advertising, marketing and recruitment/admissions to course, in liaison with course facilitators, regional coordinator, communications officer and partners. Book travel and accommodation for course participants and course facilitators Procure supplies required for courses Administrative Coordinate with IFPRI Dakar office administrative team on vendor and contract payments Required Qualifications: High school diploma with at least 1 year of administrative experience Excellent written and spoken proficiency in English and French High proficiency with computers: Knowledge of MS Office, especially Outlook; experience with spreadsheets and word processing, preferably Microsoft Excel and MS Word; familiarity with computer networks, e-mail, and the Internet. Demonstrated administrative experience. Ability to prioritize tasks and work responsibly with minimal direction and supervision. Detail-oriented and ability to follow-through to closure.
