JOB CONTEXT:

The Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (Lot) 2 Access, Choice, Together, Innovation and Ownership, Now (WISH2ACTION) is a comprehensive and integrated approach to delivering family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). It prioritizes the most underserved women and girls, particularly youth under 20, the very poor, and marginalized populations (including people with disabilities, displaced populations or those affected by humanitarian crisis, and people living in hard-to-reach areas). HI is an implementing partner in the WISH2ACTION project consortium and will be responsible for disability inclusion across eight of the project’s 16 countries of implementation (Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Sudan, Pakistan, Mozambique and Afghanistan)

WISH2ACTION is a commercial contract from DFID that brings together six internationally recognized leading organizations: HI, Marie Stopes International, OPTIONS, IRC and DMI along with 11 IPPF Member Associations.

 

YOUR MISSION:

In close collaboration with the Disability Inclusive Sexual and Reproductive health advisor and the Director of the global health unit, the regional technical manager will contribute to the definition of the technical design and implementation of WISH2ACTION project strategies on disability inclusive SRHR (iSRHR) and will provide technical guidance for consortium members, policy makers, and services providers on disability inclusive iSRHR.

Responsibility 1: To provide timely and sound technical guidance to the HI-WISH2ACTION teams and consortium Members

Responsibility 3: Networking and Advocacy

Responsibility 2: To ensure the internal and external coordination within the project

 

YOUR PROFILE :

  • You hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health (or Health background : Nurse, midwife, doctor)
  • You have minimum 8 years’ experience in a technical support, including at least 5 years in senior project management role(s) related to disability inclusion projects
  • Relevant experience on Disability, Gender and age (prior experience in Sub Sahara Africa)
  • You have successfully managed projects
  • Advanced writing capacities in English
  • You know coordinate with several actors and like working in a team
  • Positive and constructive personality (solution oriented)

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:

Embedded in the Uganda HI Program, the position will be based in the WISH2ACTION global compound in Kampala. The Technical regional manager coordinates with the Global coordination Unit based in Uganda, (Regional Operational manager, the MEAL Officer) and with the WISH team in the countries of intervention (Ethiopia, Uganda, South Sudan, Mozambique, Madagascar, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh . He/she’ll directly manage a SBCC and a research specialist.
