Action Contre la Faim recruits 01 Socio-Economic, Value-Chains and Actors Study
Action Against Hunger is an international NGO with expertise in Nutrition-Health, WaSH, FSL and MHCP. In Iraq, Action Against Hunger has its main bases in Erbil, Baghdad, Mosul and Dohuk and sub-bases in Haman Al Alil (Ninewa Governorate) and Sinune (Sinjar District, Ninewa Governorate). Action Against Hunger is working in WaSH, FSL, and MHCP, Protection and Gender in its areas of operations with a humanitarian and recovery mandate. In Sinjar District, Action Against Hunger is currently implementing a food security and livelihoods project through cash for work and in-kind support as well as conducting an assessment on mental health and psycho-social services. Scope of the Study The study should improve Action Against Hunger’s understanding of the socio-economic situation, actors and their dynamics / relationships and triggers of violence as well as value-chain activities in Sinjar District. Particular attention should be given to the inclusion of women in the economic activities, beyond the traditional scope of work. Findings from the study will be used by Action Against Hunger’s Country Coordination Team to guide and improve the effectiveness of future programmes in Sinjar District. Furthermore, the findings of the study will also be shared with other humanitarian actors, donors and policy-makers to enhance their support for conflict-sensitive / do no harm programming in Sinjar District.
