Early Grant Information for NGOs
The program is administered by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) in partnership with ArcelorMittal, General Mills, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S.D.A. Forest Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and U.S.D.A. Natural Resources Conservation Service.
The program will award approximately $8.5 million in grants in 2021 to improve and enhance:
stream, riparian and coastal habitats;
water quality in the Great Lakes and its tributaries, including a new focal area within Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan Watershed.

USD 1 MILLION Grants for Innovative Solutions to combat Water Scarcity
Climate Fund to alleviate energy poverty in Developing Countries
This Request for Applications is open to strengthening the Economic Development Efforts
Grants for African CSOs to implement activities in SGBV, SRHR, HP, and VAWG
Small Research Grants for the improvement of education
This grant-making trust inviting Charities to help Socially Disadvantaged Groups during COVID-19
Support available for NGOs working on social innovation, inclusiveness and sustainability
Advocacy grants to strengthen the voice of communities and grassroots activists
USD $250,000 to $2 million funding available for each selected partner to address Covid-19 impact in select countries
Funding provided through capital support for community development projects
Endowment Funding of € 25,000 for young people fighting for freedom
Small Grant Fund for protecting endangered animal species
Grant program for transforming women’s lives for hard to fund projects
Seed Funding for Youth-led Organisations: Invitation to Submit Proposals
Grant Opportunity to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and Future Pandemics
In 2021, grant funding will be awarded in six categories:
Restore and Enhance Stream and Riparian Habitat
Restore and Enhance Coastal Habitats
Expand Green Stormwater Infrastructure in Great Lakes Communities
Maintain and Enhance Benefits of Habitat Restoration through Invasive Species Control
Restore and Preserve Natural Areas and Biodiversity in Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan Watershed
New in 2021: Accelerate Implementation of Conservation Practices and Regenerative Agriculture on Working Lands
Funding Information
Up to $7.2 million in funding may be available for projects in the United States portion of the current or historic Great Lakes basin. Additionally, at least $1.36 million will be available for projects in Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan watershed.
Amount:
Category 1-4: Individual grant awards will range from $100,000 to $1,000,000.
Category 5: Individual grant awards will range from $50,000 to $300,000.
Category 6: Individual grant awards will range from $100,000 to $300,000.
