Purpose of the job
Perform Linux / UNIX systems management, virtualization, backup and storage in conjunction with the
Network, Security, Middleware, Database, Intranet/Internet Application development teams.
Duties and responsibilities
Manage RHEL kick starts, patches and upgrades
Address security vulnerabilities identified by security teams
Maintain central logging system
Progress virtualization of hardware based server infrastructure on hypervisors to reduce server provisioning
Manage large computational clusters
Orchestration of configuration management
Work with IS security to ensure application requirements and internal security plans are met
system installation, OS patch management, system integration, Infrastructure architecture design and on-going system maintenance.
Serve in a core team that will serve as an escalation point for complex infrastructure technical issues.
Maintain infrastructure documentation for complete solution including architecture diagrams and Linux/OS run books.
Job specification
Education
Bachelor Degree in communication Engineering
Experience and Skills :
Linux/RHEL/CentOS Operating System experience
Experience with configuration management / automation tools
Relevant scripting languages (Bash, KSH)
Knowledge of virtualization (KVM, VMWare, OVM etc.)
Knowledge of backup solutions (Netbackup)
Knowledge of storage solutions (EMC, HPE, Hitachi, IBM etc.)
