SCCT is strategically located at the mouth of the Suez Canal – offering zero deviation from one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world – and creating unique access to key markets in the East Mediterranean and Egypt. With the completion of a dredging project which deepened the terminal’s draft of 16.5 meters, and the expected complement of 21 super-post Panamax cranes, SCCT is capable of handling the largest containerships in the global container industry and Phase II increased the annual capacity at SCCT to 5.4 million TEUs. SCCT opened in 2004 as a Joint Venture with APM Terminals the majority shareholder and operator.

We offer

To lead the overall Security function in the country, manage all Security related queries from all business entities, assist in the development of Security policies , Procedures and Setup that will be best suited in Egypt, The role requires strong relationship building with the various stakeholders ( External – Internal ) to ensure objectives of the Security and the business are met and timely deliverables of all Security matters are met to ensure business is not impacted.

Key responsibilities

Leadership :

– To lead, establish and manage the Security Team and to act as trusted advisor to the country management team on all Security matters

– Build and develop a unique qualified, talented and dedicated team of people able to deliver a singular vision of making Security Team the focal point of contact for all Security related matters

Operational Excellence :

– Plans and develop the strategic direction of the department, aligning it with the overall business plan and strategy of the company.

– Provides Managerial supervision and direction for the Security, CCTV and security sub-contractor staff.

– Develop and maintain an effective security management plan/system.

– Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance

– Build and establish a highly effective security organization with main focus on security of SCCT’s personnel, properties and costumers.

– Represents SCCT towards governmental and other authorities related to security issues.

– Undertaking regular security inspections of the port facility to ensure the continuation of appropriate security measures

– Ensure that security department is providing highly efficient security services not only to SCCT departments but also to our customers

– Establish and keep a proactive cooperation and dialogue with HSSE department

– Ensure that standards of security staff are met and adequate training had provided to them.

– Ensuring that all security equipment is properly operated, tested, calibrated and maintained.

– Provides advice to Security Director on issues relating to security.

– Assists in the investigating accidents or other security related incidents

– Investigates reports of incidents involving theft from and security of the port.

– The position is one which is expected to supervise deliverables on an ongoing operational basis to ensure that security standards are communicated & complied with by all terminal users.

– Creates an environment where staff can communicate across functional boundaries. Shares knowledge, ideas and information openly.

– Insure all his employee are working in a safe manner, and obligated with HSSE policy and instructions.

Business Partnering :

– Create a security culture and enhance security vigilance among SCCT employees by conducting security sessions and training.

Governmental Relations :

– The position has both internal & external contacts where it is required to influence behaviour & acceptance. While with internal contacts this can be a shared outcome oftentimes the position may find that it is required to influence & bring about agreement in conflicting situations.

We are looking for

Minimum Experience

– Graduated in one of the Army / Police Academy with minimum of five years’ experience of security management .

– Must have Strategic, Analytical and Tactical abilities.

– Must have deep knowledge of local Security Setup and regulations.  Enhanced computer skills
