A PREPAREDNESS COORDINATOR (M/F)

Mission: Under the Director Readiness, you will assist the agency in meeting its global Readiness targets to ensure the agency is optimally positioned to respond to diverse and large events. You assist the agency and the Emergency Readiness and Response Unit (ERRU) at a global level and in specific countries in preparedness and readiness activity to enable optimal emergency response.

More precisely :

• You will participate in updating and shaping the approach and tools to Country Planning and Readiness under the direction of ERRU leadership.
• You will support the Development of country readiness prioritization lists & global work plans as required.
• You will deploy to assigned countries and you will carry out readiness with the country management team and support any assigned country remotely and regularly.
• You will ensure country level plans feedback into a Global Plan to ensure global agency readiness.
• You will support other data, analysis, communications, reporting and proposal writing as assigned.

 

Sous la responsabilité du Directeur Délégué (DD) de l’unité de préparation et réponse aux urgences, vous aurez la responsabilité d’aider le service à atteindre ses objectifs de préparation aux urgences afin de garantir au service une position optimale pour faire face aux choix d’interventions opérationnelles pour les situations d’urgence humanitaire. Vous permettrez une intervention d’urgence optimale en cas de crise humanitaire. Vous devrez dans un temps imparti être en mesure d’assurer les activités d’ACF avec les parties prenantes et garantir la capacité d’intervention opérationnelle.

Plus précisément:

• Vous préparez et organisez des déploiements et vous êtes disponible pour un large éventail de deployments à court préavis.
• Vous participez pleinement aux processus de planification et d’administration
• Vous assurez la disponibilité et la mobilisation pour les déploiements (-/+ 70% de l’année civile)
• Vous assurez la liaison avec les référents appropriés afin d’assurer une capacité et des connaissances à jour dans vos secteurs d’activité.
• Vous êtes déployé dans divers pays pour appuyer le travail de l’organisme et exécuter, sur demande, des programmes ou des activités de soutien ; gestion d’équipe ; coordination interne ; représentation ; rapports et communications ; et soutien à la sécurité et à la gestion du risque.

 

 

Do you fit with the position?

Preferably a master’s in humanitarian affairs, emergency management, or equivalent training and/or experience in strategizing, planning and professional emergency management.  You have demonstrated experience in Planning and you clearly understand the hierarchy, flow and logic of planning.

You have at least 3 years’ experience in humanitarian aid, emergency management, or similar.  You have worked in least developed and conflict countries in an operations management capacity or similar.

You have capacity building knowledge or experience in trainings.

You are able to travel regularly and at times with little notice; are flexible, professional, autonomous, a good negotiator, an excellent facilitator, and practice good communication.  You can write clearly and concisely and deliver completed works of a wide variety, such as plans, reports, white papers, orientation products, desk reviews, ToR’s, analytical papers, and the like.

You are adept in Word, Excel and Power point and can speak and write fluently in English, and preferably in French.  Other languages such as Arabic, Spanish and more, are a plus.

The preparedness coordinator is based from their home or at HQ and travels as much as their assigned countries require their on-site support within the calendar year but not exceeding +/- 70%.  You will deploy to very diverse least developed and conflict countries.  You will occasionally be required in Paris or other locations for meetings, conferences and the like.  The work is intense and can be at high speed, but is also exciting and rewarding when done well.  You are part of a global team based around the world and connected-up by our shared commitment to providing optimal service to country offices and those impacted by disaster.

 

Vous êtes titulaire d’un master idéalement en humanitaire, management de l’urgence ou équivalent en stratégie, préparation ou gestion des urgences.

Vous avez de l’expérience en planification et avez une bonne compréhension des enjeux logistiques en termes de gestion des flux et planification logistique.

Vous avez au moins 3 ans d’expérience dans l’humanitaire, en gestion des urgences. Vous avez travaillé sur le terrain, dans des zones de conflits ou peu développées. Vous avez de bonnes compétences en renforcement de compétences ou formation.

Vous êtes en capacité de voyager très régulièrement, avec de très courts préavis. Vous êtes flexible, professionnel, autonome et bon négociateur avec d’excellentes capacités de communication.

Vous avez de bonnes capacités rédactionnelles and pouvez produire des documents de bonne qualité et complets de toutes sortes : plan, rapports, note d’orientation, desk reviews, TdR, analyses…

Vous maîtrisez Word, Excel et Power point et parlez et écrivez couramment en Français, anglais. L’Arabe sera considéré comme un plus.

12 months fixed-term contract – This position can be contractualized according to 2 modalities:

Fixed term contract under French legislation at HQ in Paris:

Salary conditions: From 38 to 43 K € gross annual over 13 months according to experience, 21 days of RTT, 20 days of homeworking per year (as part of ACF’s homeworking policy, after managerial agreement), restaurant titles at 8€ (60% paid by ACF), complementary health (80% reimbursed by ACF), reimbursement 50% public transport

Expatriation contract: fixed term contract under French legislation

Remuneration and benefits:

• Monthly gross salary from2450 à 2800 € euros upon experience
• Per diem and living allowance: depending on the mission
• + 16% of monthly gross. For non-French citizen for retrocession of retirement and unemployment insurance.

Medical coverage: 100% coverage of medical expenses + repatriation insurance.

Leaves and RnR:

• 25 days of paid leaves per year.
• + 20 RnR per year.
• + 215 € at each RnR period (averagely every 3 months)

Training :

• Free and unlimited access to the certifying e-learning platform Crossknowledge ©.
• Technical trainings at HQ or regional level (averagely 1 per year).
• Intermission Workshop once a year.
• Participation to external trainings costs upon eligibility of the request.

Special conditions and skills: This position requires frequent travel in difficult conditions.

Contrat à durée déterminée de 12 mois (télétravail ou siège)

Conditions salariales: entre 38 et 43K € brut annuel (sur 13 mois) selon l’expérience. 21 jours de RTT et 20 jours de congés payés par an. Ticket restaurant d’un montant de 8€ (pris en charge à 60% par ACF converture médicale et pris en charge des frais de transport à hauteur de 50%.
