Welthungerhilfe recruits 01 Program Coordinator ToGETHER
The position is to be filled by May 1, 2024, with a contract duration of three years. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.
The ToGETHER program (Towards Greater Effectiveness and Timeliness in Humanitarian Emergency Response) enters a second phase, planned to start in May 2024. With a perspective of 3 years, it aims to continue fostering localization of humanitarian action. In this program 40 local/national organizations from eight countries (Bangladesh, Colombia, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Somalia) and four international organizations from Germany will continue working in close collaboration. Welthungerhilfe is the consortium lead and will host and manage a ToGETHER Program Management Unit (PMU) in its Welthungerhilfe Head Office in Bonn, Germany. As Program Coordinator ToGETHER, you will coordinate the Program Management Unit (PMU) that comprises a team of experts in the fields of MEAL, Communications, Advocacy, Finance, Operations and Administration. You will ensure a high-quality implementation of the ToGETHER program based on the program objectives and expected results.
Your responsibilities
Management of PMU
- Technical and results-oriented management of the PMU’s work and its various portfolios and activities
- Manage program work streams to ensure collaboration and synergies within the program and with all stakeholders
- Ensure contract fulfillment and overall compliance of Welthungerhilfe as consortium leader and contract holder of the consortium towards the institutional donor (including reporting)
- Coordinate activities according to logframe and prepare templates, instructions, TORs according to planned milestones and monitor timelines and milestones
- Ensure a conducive working environment
Coordination and reporting
- Preparation, follow-up and operationalization of the program committee, as well as preparation of decision papers
- Regular reporting on the progress of strategic steering to the ToGETHER Program Committee
- Implementing decisions of the ToGETHER Program Committee
- Identifying potential program risks, monitoring risks and reporting regularly to the Program Committee and Welthungerhilfe’s risk management system
- Contact person for the program committee and for the regional program coordination of the consortium
- Establishing and implementing a peer review mechanism at consortium level
- Regular reporting to the institutional donor, the ToGETHER Program Committee and Welthungerhilfe management
Networking and Communication/Visibility
- Organising workshops/conferences at German and international level to exchange best practices and innovative approaches of the programme
- Developing and implementing a communication and visibility plan for the program
- Ensuring the communication of global results to humanitarian actors
- Preparation of decision papers and publications in the field of localization in humanitarian aid
- Supervising the conception and publication of publications and media products of the localization programme
Your profile
- A university or college degree in a relevant field or an equivalent qualification appropriate to the position
- At least 3 years of professional experience in humanitarian aid
- Experience in managing complex programs
- Experience in working with local partners in humanitarian contexts
- Experience in networking and positioning humanitarian aid
- Experience in capacity building
- Excellent communication skills in a culturally diverse environment
- Excellent written and spoken German and English; knowledge of French or Spanish is an advantage
