OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSTThe Culture Sector Living Heritage Entity is elaborating new visualizations to be added to the project ‘Dive into Intangible Cultural Heritage’ which offers new ways of grasping the cultural diversity of living heritage elements inscribed on the lists of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. These new visualizations, which will be focusing on living heritage and sustainable development, are to be released during the Fifteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage tentatively scheduled from 14 to 19 December 2020. 

In this context, under the supervision of the Knowledge Management Specialist of the Living Heritage Entity, and in cooperation with an expert in charge of developing the visualizations content, the Individual Specialist shall:
•    Edit 66 blurbs of 100 words each explaining the relationship between a particular element and an SDG, and introductory texts to the visualizations and underlying principles of approximately 10.000 words in total;
•    Peer-review the visualizations by randomly checking the linkages featured in the visualizations against the indexing principles, during four days;
•    Submit the following deliverables within the deadlines set below:

•    The edited blurbs and introductory texts to the visualizations and underlying principles within 10 days of receipt of the original texts;•    A report as a result of the peer-review, to be completed no later than 5 days after completion of the editing work. The report shall not exceed 4 pages (excluding potential annexes if relations are revised).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education•    Advanced University degree (Master or equivalent) in fields related to culture.

Work experience•    A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in English text editing in culture-related fields.
Skills/Competencies•    Excellent understanding of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and its concepts.  
Languages•    Excellent knowledge of English.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Skills/Competencies•    Good understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals framework.
