For every child, a ChampionCommunication strategy: The post supports the implementation of the communication strategy through the management of the office’s social media platforms and websites while contributing to other digital products such as the quarterly newsletter as required. The posts uses these functions to support national, regional and global campaigns and priorities, while supporting resource mobilization by acknowledging donor support on these platforms.
Media relations: Media coverage of the COs work is posted to social media platforms in Malagasy, French and English in a timely manner. Press releases and media contacts are regularly posted to the offices three websites as part of the general content management activities. The channels under the responsibility of the post are used on a daily basis to bring the story of UNICEF’s work to a wider audience, including the media.Monitoring and evaluation: Regular monitoring and evaluation activities are undertaken according to the work plan to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of country digital communication efforts. Results and reports are prepared and shared on a timely basis.Celebrities, partners and special events: The incumbent, together with the rest of the communication team, suggests and develops projects for the office’s supporters and partners that will have an impact with our social media followers. Special events organised by the office are given high visibility to these channels and engagement among the platforms’ followers is developed.
How can you make a difference?Within the delegated authority and the given organizational set-up, the incumbent may be accountable for all or assigned areas of the following major duties and end results.

1. Communication materialsEnsure that the production of communication products and materials is timely executed and followed up to support country communication strategy, regional and global campaigns and priorities and to support resource mobilization as set out in the work plan

2. Media relationsEffective and timely professional assistance and support are provided in developing and drafting content that highlights media coverage of UNICEF activities while producing online content that attracts media attention.

3. Monitoring and evaluationRegular monitoring and evaluation activities are undertaken according to the work plan to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of online communication efforts. Ensure results and reports are prepared and shared on a timely basis.

4. Celebrities, partners and special eventsSupport partnerships with celebrities, influencers and organizations by promoting and producing digital online products that bring their support and advocacy to a global audience

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.

Two years practical professional work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media.
Background/familiarity with Emergency situations Fluency in French and English is required.
