METHODOLOGY
The consultant will be based in Aswan and working on a full-time basis with frequency visits to Red Sea (one visit per month).
Key tasks
Under the direct supervision of Child Protection Specialist and the technical backstopping of the child protection officer, the consultant is required to undertake the below assignment:
Monitoring the activities and progress of the CPCs in targeted areas and ensure their active and timely follow up on referred cases.
Monitor the implementation of community-based child protection, specialized services and positive parenting in partnership with ministry of health – PHUs in addition to FGM and Justice for children interventions.
Monitor the implementation of EVAC in schools programmes in coordination with education directorate and partner NGOs.
Undertake regular monitoring visits and assessments of children in detention and monitor the humanitarian support being provided to them.

QUALIFICATIONS, SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AND ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES
Qualification and/or specialized knowledge/experience required for the assignment:
Education:
An Advanced University Degree in social sciences, Law, Human Rights and related field (or relevant work experience).
Experience:
Around 5 years experience in project and program coordination, child protection, case management, psychosocial interventions, positive parenting programs, CP Systems building or related field.
Relevant experience in child protection, human rights, migration and related areas, program/project development and management in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is essential.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset. Strong written skills are required.
