UMO Intérim recruits 01 Material Logistic Specialist
The Material Logistic Specialist has the responsibility to follow the specific logistics linked to Cargo, Equipment, Vessels and Assets. Responsible for the efficient, timely and accurate delivery of Logistics services to customers within area of responsibility.
This task shall be executed within the out most respect of the group procedures, code of ethics and HSES policy.
Responsibilities
- Managing Import and Export of material and equipment from and to Senegal.
- Coordinate each shipping file including issuance of work orders, commercial invoices, check shipping documents for accuracy.
- Ensure tracking systems are updated with shipping status.
- Ensure all shipping files are compliant and contain the relevant customs information.
- Ensure all services are performed against the Project Logistics Subcontracts.
- Maintain strong archive system, records for all Freight forwarding files, shipments from requests, to Payment, including customs declaration and associated documents.
- Follow up & Report all project’s cost commitments, related to Logistic activities.
- Ensure compliance with company rules pertaining to cost commitments and cost control.
- Assist operation at port during mobilization/Demobilization phases of Construction vessels, when required.
- Interfaces with the local logistics entity to ensure that all documentation (vessel + goods + crew) for clearance is complete and administratively conform for the consignee as per legal rules at destination and that copies of all relevant documents are made available to all stake holders.
- Liaise with and instructs selected local shipping agents, to arrange Ship’s Clearances as per Companies’ instructions & local regulations.
- Liaise with and instructs local Sub-contractors such as Caterers, Waste Disposal Co, Terminal Handling Co, through Purchase Orders, for material handling, food deliveries,
- Tracking, management for all movement of goods transferred to worksites to vessels (vice & versa). Edition of Cargo manifest.
- Report and liaise with logistics agents and services providers for any issue and any potential claims.
- Ensure all logistics Operations are done efficiently as per HSES policy.
- Participates in initiatives such as development of tools & process.
- Develops self and encourages development of others

Job requirements
Essential
- Equivalent upper education certificate in Logistics/Shipping/International Trade.
- Significant experience in a previous logistics role (Ideally within Oil & Gas Industry).
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, transit, Shipping rules in Senegal.
- Good administrative and time management skills.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Microsoft Pack office Advanced.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills and accurate reporting, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & Quality.
- French mother tongue.
- Must be fluent in English (oral and written). Moreover, must be comfortable with interlocutor speaking English over the phone, from anywhere in the world.
Desirable
- Experience as Freight forwarder / Shipping Agent.
- Knowledge of In-Country Immigration rules.
- Knowledge of SAP Software.
