Implement innovative efforts to educate vulnerable Mauritanians, civil society actors, and the public on anti-slavery, anti-trafficking, anti-discrimination, and gender-based violence (GBV) legislations.
Implement activities to promote the rights of children victims of mendicity, this includes raising awareness on existing laws and collecting data to inform USG and GIRM’s programming.
To address anti-slavery, anti-trafficking, and GBV issues, Post supports innovative approaches through a series of robust train-the-trainer competency-based workshops in all regions in order to ensure that vulnerable Mauritanians, human rights defenders, and civil society actors possess the knowledge and the know-how to disseminate anti-slavery, anti-discrimination and GBV content nationwide. Post will gear innovative awareness-raising campaigns at the larger public to ensure pertinent information related to legal provisions is shared and received.
To address the promotion of the fight against child’s mendicity and related data collection, Post will coordinate activities with specialized United Nations agencies and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in order to expand on past work to confront this legacy and assist with efforts to eliminate the practice. This will be done through workshops and awareness-raising activities centered around regions with a high prevalence of the phenomenon. Activities will involve koranic schoolteachers and other prominent political and social influencers to raise the profile of the fight and pressure authorities for change
