Détails de l’emploi

Description

Everyone deserves the opportunity to build a better future. This simple idea has been at the heart of TechnoServe’s work around the world for over 50 years. TechnoServe is a pioneer in leveraging the power of business and markets to create sustainable pathways out of poverty.

The low-income communities in which we work are full of enterprising people. Their small-scale farms and businesses are the keys to economic development. But they face many challenges: low literacy, lack of access to jobs and markets, unpredictable political dynamics and, increasingly, the effects of climate change. For many women and young people, the challenges are even more daunting. Working with TechnoServe staff, people around the world are lifting themselves out of poverty. The results are amazing…when incomes increase and living conditions for families get better, they are able to access health care and education previously out of reach. Communities and even whole countries are better off.

Job Summary:

TechnoServe Benin is looking for a results-oriented professional to work across BeninCaju’s activity streams in order to develop, test and implement new technology-focused interventions. The Technology Intervention Program Manager will provide coordination and leadership over digital tools to drive efficiency and knowledge sharing along the cashew value chain in Benin.

BeninCajù is a multi-year project funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) under its Food for Progress Fund (FFPr) program. It is implemented by TechnoServe in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and local organizations in Benin. BeninCajù uses a sector-wide approach that aims to improve Benin’s cashew nut sector in a dynamic of more productive, diversified and inclusive economic growth for the benefit of Benin and its population. Over the duration of the project (2015 to 2024), BeninCajù aims to increase the yields and incomes of 50,000 farmers, triple the national processing capacity, and catalyze the development of the emerging derivatives market, with the aim of putting the sector on a path of growth and success.

Over the past two years, BeninCajù has been developing digital tools to drive efficiency and knowledge sharing along the cashew value chain in Benin and other African cashew-producing nations.
