TARA recruits 01 Assistant to the Executive Director – Delhi, India
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
TARA is a joint venture by two organizations: One Indian Trust named ONYVA and one French NGO/not-for-profit association named CHAYA FRANCE. TARA has been working towards child protection and education for the last 12 years in Delhi and has established:
- 3 Homes for “Children in Need of Care and Protection” registered under the Juvenile and Justice Act, 2015, called TARA Tots, TARA Boys and TARA Girls,
- 1 after-care program named TARA Big Birds for the children who have turned 18 and are ready to transform into adulthood
- 1 Outreach Centre opened in February 2019, to provide education to children and promote family strengthening in a marginalized community of Saidulajab in South Delhi.
TARA Executive Director has to the responsiblity :
- To ensure that the best interest of the children remain our foremost priority in all decision making.
- To guarantee the quality of the service delivered by TARA.
- To ensure sufficient funding for the homes.
- To ensure full legal compliance.
The assistant to the Executive Director will assist her in the following:
OPERATIONAL PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
- Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organization
- Ensure that the operation of the organization meets the expectations of its Beneficiaries, Trustees and Funders
- Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization
- Draft policies and prepare procedures to implement the organizational policies; review existing policies on an annual basis
PROGRAM PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the organization’s programs and services
- Monitor the day-to-day delivery of the programs and services of the organization to maintain or improve quality
HUMAN RESOURCES PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
- Determine staffing requirements for organizational management and program delivery
- Oversee the implementation of the human resources policies, procedures, and practices including the development of job description for all staff
- Recruit, interview, and select staff that have the right technical and personal abilities to help further the organization’s mission
- Ensure that all staff receives an orientation to the organization and that appropriate training is provided
FINANCIAL PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
- Work with Managers and Trustees to prepare a comprehensive budget
- Research funding sources, oversee the development of fundraising plans and proof-read funding proposals to increase the funds of the organization
- Participate in fundraising activities
- Ensure that sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed
COMMUNITY RELATIONS/ADVOCACY
- Communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organization
- Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, bureaucrats, politicians, partners, schools, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization
- Represent the organization at community activities to enhance the organization’s community profile
RISK MANAGEMENT
- Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization’s people (beneficiaries, staff, management, volunteers), property, finances, goodwill, and image and implement measures to control risks

The internship will be based in Delhi and will be unpaid.
We accept interns for a period of 3 months to 1 year.
