MISSION
To Position the company as a corporate citizen and an integrated part of the social environment by building good Corporate Image, good Reputation and Relationships with all stakeholders to achieve company objectives without impediment.
OPERATIONAL DELIVERY
Develop and implement a robust Corporate Communication & CSI, legal and regulatory Affairs strategy, policy and framework for the Opco that are aligned with in-country environment, local regulatory directives and with MTN’s guidelines;
Establish the strategic direction for the regulatory, Legal, and corporate affairs functions;
Manage affairs connected with protection, reputation and enhancement of the company’s interests amongst government regulators, stakeholders and influencers;
Ensure monitoring and analysis of pending legislation and regulations that may impact the company’s operations, and alerts management;
Responsible for Corporate Governance and compliance to corporate law : Oversee and direct the Corporate Secretarial function, including support for the Board of Directors and act as liaison between senior management and the Board;
Service the Opco with sound Company Secretarial Practice and provide efficient and comprehensive Company Secretarial administrative support including Preparing, monitoring and updating schedules of compliance with relevant legislation i.e Companies Act, etc.
Profil recherchée
EDUCATION
Minimum Master Degree in Legal, Regulatory or equivalent / MBA advantageous
Language fluency in English & French
WORK EXPERIENCE
8 – 10 years of experience as seasoned general manager; with at least 5 years in relevant sector/ industry
Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding emerging markets
Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous
KNOWLEDGE
In-depth understanding of the legislator and regulatory environment, including the policy framework as well as the technical requirements with regard to compliance and reporting
High awareness and intricate understanding of issues relevant to the ICT industry and the particular country (e.g. tariff collusion, interconnect charges, network coverage, environmental impact, equity and empowerment, etc.)

Ability to lobby and influence ethically in line with universally accepted standards

Intimate knowledge of the working media in a particular country, including media ownership arrangements, editorial policy, audience demographics and circulation figures
