MSF recrute 01 Mobile trainer

MSF recrute 01 Mobile trainer – WEST & CENTRAL AFRICA

GENERAL CONTEXT Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical-humanitarian organization, which offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

MSF is a civil society initiative that brings together individuals committed to the assistance of other human beings in crisis. As such MSF is by choice an association. Each individual working with MSF does it out of conviction and is ready to uphold the values and principles of MSF.

The MSF movement is built around six operational directorates. MSF OCBA is one of those directorates. The operations are implemented by field teams and the mission coordination teams; together with the organizational units based in Barcelona and decentralized in Nairobi, Dakar and Amman. The field operations are guided and supported by 5 Operational Cells, the Emergency Unit and other departments supporting operations, including the Human Resources Department, of which the Learning Unit is one essential component.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE AND CONTEXT OF THE POST

The main objective of the Field Learning Mobile Trainer is to support the provision of decentralized learning activities towards field staff, mainly FMC (Field Management Course), Training of Trainers (ToT) and Training of Facilitators for the Induction course Welcome to MSF (WtMSF ToF). These courses are designed and prepared, but they require a systematic adaptation to the particular needs and requirements of the missions where they are going to be provided. This requires the Field Learning MIO to spend around 80% of his/her time in the field.

Trainings are organised and provided with the support of the members of the Country Coordination Team (such as HRCo or FieldCos). The Learning Unit members can also provide support in the different aspects of the analysis, elaboration and delivery of face-to-face, online and blended learning solutions. The countries to cover can be from the entire MSF-OCBA portfolio. An average of 6-7 mission visits are done every year.

The Field Learning Mobile Trainer will report hierarchically to the Head of the Learning Unit and functionally to the Learning Solutions Manager.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare the mission training schedule in coordination with the Country Coordination Teams and according with Learning Unit yearly field activity plan.
  • In collaboration with Field HR Teams (HRCos, Personal Development Managers) analyse mission needs and context in order to re-design/adapt learning programs as necessary.

  • Whenever necessary, design new learning solutions (entirely or some modules only): Objectives, contents, profiles of recipients, methodology, chronogram, learning impact evaluation system, bibliography
  • Collaborate with the Learning Unit in the analysis, design, production and delivery of learning solutions, whenever required
  • Contribute to the Learning Unit overall strategy and planning, with focus on managerial skills and training/facilitation competencies.
