About the role:

MAG is seeking to recruit a Roving Community Liaison Manager to join our Operational Development Team (ODT). Reporting to the Senior Community Liaison Advisor (SCLA), you will play a central role in supporting the effective delivery of CL activities by undertaking structured missions to MAG’s programmes. These visits will focus on providing support, capacity building and mentoring to Community Liaison staff.

You will also work to improve quality, accountability, innovation and learning in relation to MAG’s CL activities through supporting the SCLA with the design and delivery of CL tools and approaches and ensuring examples of best practice relating to CL, are shared between programmes. In addition, you may be required to support emergency response initiatives or the start-up of new operations.

About you:

You will have previous experience of working overseas in the Humanitarian Mine Action sector, with experience of leading, capacity developing and managing national staff to implement Community Liaison (CL) projects and activities.  You will have excellent technical knowledge of core CL programming areas, including Risk Education, Non-Technical Survey and Impact Monitoring. You will possess strong participatory learning and facilitation skills and will have applied these to train others. You will have a proven background in conducting monitoring and evaluation/quality assurance assessments and demonstrated ability to enhance and improve the quality of technical delivery. Finally, you will be able work independently while being part of a geographically diverse team.

We would be especially pleased to hear from you if you have a working knowledge of French or a relevant second language (Spanish or Arabic), as well as experience of designing and delivering programmes relating to small arms/light weapons (SALW) management.

You should be aware, MAG’s areas of operations are often remote with basic amenities, so you will need to be able to live and work in challenging environments, where the need for your skills and MAG’s work is most.
