OpportunityWe are currently looking to hire a candidate to join our team as Head of West Africa Export Market in Abidjan.
If you want to participate in transforming Maersk into becoming the global integrator in container logistics in West Africa then this is the job for you!You will run the daily ocean export business in close partnership with the West Africa Area Management Teams and the Africa Regional Team.
As Head of West Africa Export Market, your responsibilities will include, amongst other things, the following tasks: Export performance:– Ensure export volume and revenue are being delivered.
– Drive corrective actions with Areas as needed to address revenue or volume shortfall
– Drive the performance management process i.e. follow up on ST and LT portfolio performance, market share development and rate index development
Product development and strategy– Provide input on market growth, trends and intelligence to inform trade strategy and RoFo setting

– Provide input on product development and features (network reviews, new products (eco/spot))
– Translate trade direction setting where relevant into Area direction with a focus on customer segment development (FFW, BCO, customer size/vertical)
Orchestrate execution with Areas– Plan and execute the tender season, provide insights, pipeline planning and link to intermodal/lns as relevant

Establish and lead a high-performing team with trade management expertise for Ocean
– Attract, engage, develop and retain people with strong capabilities within Ocean trade management, and solid competitor, market and customer insights
– Build a strong talent pipeline for leadership roles within ROM
– Manage potentially virtual teams (i.e. staff sitting remotely)
Who we are looking for:• We require fluency in oral and written English, while French is a plus, and proven experience with the following:
• Analysis and data-driven decision-making• Ability to think strategically• Insight into the liner shipping industry and trade management• Excellent communication• Strong commercial mindset• Stakeholder management• Pro-active approach• Taking ownership and following through until completion of tasks• Teamwork-oriented and able to work with a virtual team• Leadership experience
Additional skills which are preferred, but not required:• Positions with analytical exposure in frontline organization• In-depth understanding of marketing, specifically competitor and market segmentation analysis and trends• Process implementation/Driving change POSTULER
