We are currently looking to hire a Finance Supervisor to join our team in Angola. The Finance Supervisor will be the anchor point for all accounting, compliance and internal control related matters in the Angola accounting team as well as the senior liaison between the frontline and various shared services’ teams.

The responsibilities of the Finance Supervisor include ownership of and providing insight into the Financial Statements and handling the relationship with external parties such as various Government authorities, and auditors, where relevant. The Finance Supervisor has to ensure true and fair view of financials and management accounts are published effectively. In addition, the Finance Supervisor will need to be on top of governance, secure our license to operate, ensure robust internal controls and protect and enhance our external reputation.

The role entails building a trusted relationship with key internal and external stakeholders, leading without authority, and working remotely with various teams to achieve desired outcomes. The Finance Supervisor will have to be a true Business Partner influencing decisions when it comes to business cases/ projects and as well as the tax and accounting requirements for future business cases.

Key responsibilities:

As a member of the finance, planning and control department at Maersk Angola and Maersk Angola Logistics and Services you will be responsible for :

Business Continuity

Ensure full compliance with local statutory framework

Ensure Group Accounting and Reporting rules (AP Moeller Maersk GAAP) and local GAAP requirements are timely met

Budget and controls Sales, General and Administration costs (SGA) inclusive of FTEs count

Manage Internal Service Level Agreements (SLA)

Manage business, proper operating licenses if any

Manage compliance to competition rules or other Group/local rules

Entry and focal point for finance related ad hoc projects for their country of responsibility

Ensure Group Control framework is complied with

Coordinate and manage the service delivery of the appropriate parties: Global Service Center (GSC), local service providers (e.g., Accounting services, Tax advisors, Auditors, lawyers etc)

Ensure Tax compliance

Raise the local compliance points with respective teams (e.g., Accounting services, Tax advisors, Auditors, lawyers, Tax Operation centre etc)

Cash management

Tax

Ensure compliance with local Tax rules and deadlines in coordination with Tax advisors

Support Finance senior management / directly deal with the tax authorities as appropriate

Required experience & skills

A financial educational background as master’s degree in Finance, Tax, Accounting 

Ideally Chartered Accountant qualification

Prior proven experience (at least 5 years) in a similar function or in an auditing/consulting firm

Can influence without authority

Preferably experienced in working closely with offshore teams in service centers

Prior proven experience in Logistic companies will represent a plus

Previous experience in Logistics field is a huge asset

Excellent Portuguese and English language are a must
