Maersk SA currently has a vacancy for an EMR Operator in South Africa, Cape Town. This is a permanent position and will report to the Equipment and EMR Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of Maersk equipment maintenance and repair (EMR) for specific location in the region. Manage daily EMR activities for specific location

Key Responsibilities:
Manage EMR daily operation for specific location.
Cost control for specific location.
Analysis and identify potential fault of EMR activities from daily operation and solve problems.
Monitor EMR suppliers on quality and productivity control.
Set and align individual KPI of suppliers.
Follow up the implementation of EMR policy and instructions from CENEMR SOP.
Approve estimates within limit.
Approve estimates for specific location.
Manage EMR daily operation for specific location. Identify the faults and solve problems.
Unit cost management and analysis
Propose SOPs for specific operation.
Monitor the equipment Out of service status for specific location to ensure repair shops productivity.
Perform depot audit periodically on repair shops in specific location to control inspection and repair quality. Check the implementation of correction plan by EMR suppliers.
Submit 3rd party recovery report.
Investigate and seek for potential EMR suppliers for Maersk.
Check and ensure the monthly report of payment to repair shops and debit to CENEMR are correct
Check and ensure the implementation of EMR policy and instructions from CENEMR SOP.
Who we are looking for
Someone with solid experience in Equipment, Maintenance and Repair of containers within the Shipping and logistics industry.
You understand structural conditions and repairs required for both dry and reefer containers, as well as unit repairs for reefer containers.
You are customer centric with a view to ensuring our vendors produce quality containers for our Customers.
You can also build a professional and constructive cooperation with any stakeholder and have a mind-set focused on standardization as well as continuous improvement.
Given your strategic mindset you are able to tackle complex problems, analyze the root cause and then define as well implement the solutions.
You are process driven, curious to learn, willing to grow and see opportunities in problems.
