Maersk is looking for a customer focused and driven candidate to take up the new and exciting role of Customer Solutions Manager in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

He/She will be responsible for development and evolution of the end-to-end value proposition per segment/per vertical based on identified customers’ needs and supported by insights from marketing resulting in market-differentiated customer solutions.

The role as Customer Solutions Manager offers a great opportunity to be part of  building a winning team and be a strong enabler in shaping the success of our increased focus on lead Logistics.

You will be part of a new build African team as desire to deliver best in class service, effective communication, cost awareness and continuous performance which supports our growth aspirations and the success of our customers within Logistics. 

Key responsibilities:

Develop: Understanding and translation of customer and vertical needs (current & emerging), capturing insights to drive Value Proposition development.

•    Identify cross vertical value elements when bundling products on area level (both standard & customized)

•    Support front-line sales in a customer-driven approach to identify needs and pain points to drive value proposition development

•    Work with product teams to develop solutions by providing customer insights, captured from frontline and client-engagements

Scale & Apply solutions: Bundling of global and local value propositions into relevant customer solutions

•    Do resource prioritization – Asses customer needs against Maersk capability to develop a solution

•    Bundle products, replicate solutions and scale up existing solutions

•    Ensure the value proposition is completed and in good standard before submitted to customer

Institutionalize: Thought Leadership, Collaboration & Best practice sharing

•    Develop customer use cases based on vertical insight to drive growth

•    Build a library of successful value propositions and share best practices

•    Active participation in the Solutions community, driving best practices and organizational learning across the geographies and verticals

•    Coach account owners around L&S selling

Who we are looking for:

•    Bachelor degree

•    5+ years of product management and/or business development experience within the Logistic & Service industry.

•    Customer-centric approach to identifying customer needs

•    Logistics and Supply Chain Expertise 

•    High-level understanding of product features and benefits and how they address customer pain points

•    Strategic partnering financial acumen, matrix management, value co-creator, presentation skills

•    Functional management skills & influencing skill; Collaborative Stakeholder management

•    Influence without authority
