Job Summary: 

The Assistant, Direct Marketing will support International Medical Corps’ positioning for and pursuit of funding opportunities with new and existing donors in both the private and public sectors. Provides assistance to the Direc Marketing team in their management of new proposals, reporting for ongoing private-donor grants, as well as for administrative research initiatives. May help lead special projects to develop new or adapt existing resources and tools as needs are identified.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Varied Engagement/Retention Program Development and Maintenance •    In coordination with the Manager of Direct Marketing, design and maintain a peer-to-peer program with an emphasis on institutional donor conversion of both fundraiser creators and participants •    Maintain an engaging recurring donor retention program aimed at both keeping and upgrading current sustainers •    Perform analysis on current donor acknowledgement practices, identify gaps, and suggest process improvements

Marketing Campaign Support •    Assist in the management of various digital assets, such as photos and stories, and make strategic recommendations for marketing usage by campaign •    Perform copy editing for online and offline campaigns as needed •    Create and circulate results of each marketing campaign for team review •    Work across the annual fund, major donor, institutional, and communications teams to collaborate on outreach to select groups such as mid-level donors, workplaces giving donors, event donors, and peer to peer participants

Online Conversion Rate Optimization •    Design, run, and build email and online donation page A/B tests and report on findings at regular intervals

Knowledge and Process Management •    In conjunction with the RD Operations team, organize, manage, and implement knowledge management best practices for the shared drive for Resource Development and Marketing •    Create and maintain a digital and physical catalog of all online and offline marketing campaigns including strategy documents, data plans, revision rounds, and final creative •    Work with the Manager of Direct Marketing to develop a targeted marketing emergency outreach plan and assist in the plan’s execution during emergency responses

Qualification

  • Typically, a Bachelor’s degree in related area. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Experience • Typically, up to 2 years of relevant experience in international program development, project management, non-profit fundraising, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Demonstrated experience providing support to project management and/or fundraising teams, managing and producing competitive proposals for non-profit organizations, or similar and transferrable work experience. • Experience in international programming focused on health, and/or related humanitarian assistance sectors preferred. • Previous program design experience preferred. • Familiarity and past experience with a wider public and private non-profit donor landscape preferred. • Strong familiarity with international development, humanitarian, or non-profit organizations. • Demonstrated skills in coordinating, facilitating, and managing projects. • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities. • Demonstrated strategic thinking, creativity, acute problem solving, and analytical skills. • Strong computer skills.
