GEC Petroleum is recruiting a Business Development Specialist.

GEC Petroleum SA is a Senegalese company, specialized in International Company Representation in the Oil and Gas industry. We provide representation for international companies who wish to establish themselves in Senegal or expand their existing business base by supplying them with all the logistical and business development support and services they may require. We combined international experience and local knowledge (we have an office in Dakar) and our entire team is fluent in both English and French.

We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to help drive sales in the commercial and industrial segment of the Senegalese market. This individual should ideally have previous outside sales experience, be self-motivated, possess excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, have the ability to successfully close business transactions, achieve sales goals, develop new business, and strengthen existing customer relationships. A background in energy, mining, financial or strategic consulting services would be consider an asset. An excellent level of French and English is requred.

This position will be based out of our Dakar office.

Your responsibilities at GEC Petroleum
Be the front line face of the company. You will represent GEC Petroleum to every customer you meet with.
Attract, develop, and maintain new business opportunities you acquire.
Arrange and participate in face to face meetings and conference calls with new and existing customers.
Negotiate and prepare sales quotes to customers for our service.
Achieve sales goals and meet key performance indicators set by upper management.
Create sales leads and active point of contacts over the phone and in person.
Maintain existing customer base while continuing to expand business.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, but will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
Fluent in French and English
Excellent communication,presentation, and customer service skills.
Must possess a confident and creditable demeanor at all times.
A clean and polished appearance with the ability to speak clearly to prospective clients is required.
Must be able to work alongside other sales personnel and communicate effectively.
