The Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia through the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes offers scholarships for foreign students and professors of higher education institutions as well as research fellows who intend to gain further professional experience in Croatian institutions of higher education or research.
Scholarships can be applied for under two different application pools:
- BILATERAL AGREEMENTS
This application pool is open only for citizens of countries (and territories) that have a valid/effective educational co-operation programme with Croatia, or a bilateral agreement signed by the Croatian Government or the Ministry of Science and Education and the relevant ministry of the given country (or territory). Applications of the students enrolled in the institutions of the above specified countries (and territories), but without a citizenship of these same countries (or territories) will not be accepted.
COUNTRIES WHOSE CITIZENS MAY APPLY ON THE BASIS OF A VALID/EFFECTIVE EDUCATIONAL CO-OPERATION PROGRAMME AND/OR A BILATERAL AGREEMENT: Belgium (Flanders), Bulgaria, Czech Republic, China, Germany (Bavaria), Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Turkey, Ukraine.
- SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS OF CROATIAN LANGUAGE
This application pool is open only for applications by students of language departments of Croatian language and literature abroad, regardless whether or not their respective countries have a valid co-operation programme or a bilateral agreement with Croatia, i.e., regardless of whether or not the language department of Croatian language and literature falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry. If applicable an application must be submitted by the Croatian language fellow.
IMPORTANT:
Applications are accepted only when delivered by competent authorities responsible for the implementation of scholarships programmes and cannot be submitted individually. Applications (for the pool 1) from countries that are not on the list will not be taken into consideration.
The deadline for application and for submitting two copies of the required documents and printed version of the Application form is: 15th March 2019 (as per postmark).

In order to make your bilateral mobility experience as pleasant as possible and make the information on the procedures related to the implementation of the Bilateral Programme of Academic Mobility in Croatia as clear as possible, we have prepared some practical information. However, after having completed the award procedure, and having selected the scholarship holders, the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes will send you General Info Package with detailed information on your studies and stay in Croatia, by e-mail and by post.
