These projects should lead to improved evidence-based advocacy and increased awareness of policies, programs, investments and achievements that are sensitive to nutritional issues. It will also contribute to building the capacity of national stakeholders on food and nutrition systems that are sensitive to nutritional issues.  

Given the relevance of communication and digital strategy in these projects to achieve the expected results, the recruitment of a Digital communications and partnerships is necessary to develop and implement a digital communication strategy adapted to the projects that encompasses digital media and communication in order to advance organizational and programmatic priorities in compliance with the standards of FAO. The Digital communication and four specific objectives:
1. Develop content for digital tools (website management and social media content). 2. Develop communication tools / materials for the project and disseminate them. 3. Engage with partners and general audience by promoting FAO’s work through its mandate. 4. Ensure communication aspects during project project-related events.
Reporting LinesUnder the general authority of the FAO Representative in Mauritania, under the direct supervision of the Program Officer in collaboration with the project implementation team, and in liaison with the Corporate Communication Policy and Global Strategy, coordinated and channeled by the Regional Communication Office.

Technical FocusComputer Sciences, Communication, social sciences or other relevant field.

Tasks and responsibilities
The Digital communications and partnership will specifically:
In close consultation with OCC, prepare a digital strategy and communication plan on creating a suitable environment for improving nutrition through agricultural and food systems;
Foresee and analyze risk as it relates to digital engagement and protecting FAO brand Work closely with the Digital and communication teams in OCC Interface with IT and service providers to debug performances issues;Write media materials and manage the FAO’s Mauritania social media (FAO Mauritania Twitter account) for promotion of FAO’s work by engaging with the audience and partners in order to increase the visibility of the organization’s work;Keep FAO’s Mauritania social media channel (Twitter account) active and engaging;Coordinate with RNE to publish FAO Mauritania’s releases on RNE twitter account;Liaise with the FAO communication and digital team to ensure compliance with the communication policy in place within the organization (for web, social media and FAO logo)Participate in the organization of all Project activities and ensure the dissemination of press releases through FAO Mauritania Twitter account and FAO’s Mauritania Website;Obtain appropriate management and digital team’s approval for all social media initiatives;Manage the FAO’s country website through TYPO3, the corporate Content Management System (CMSWrite and update written and visual content for the country website;Optimize Webpages for site visitors and search engines;Liaise and coordinate with RNE and SNE to send them; communications materials including press releases to be published on RNE and SNE websites;Familiar use of the Public Workflow System (PWS), introduce and monitor all communication tools within the system;Use various resources (RNE and SNE newsletters), country stories on the Intranet and OSD newsletters;Engage with media partners to promote FAO’s activities and accomplishments;Meet up with partners (UN agencies in Mauritania, Government, civil society’s organizations) and disseminate conjoined activities;Write the content of quality communication tools adapted to the objectives of the project and the targets of the messages;Ensure that messages are appropriate to meet the expectations of each target;Collaborate with the external press to share information on the project;Ensure that particular attention is paid to communication and visibility through press releases at key stages of the project and the dissemination of information on its achievements;Enable access to the information needed about country specific activities;Provide all required background materials and standards of visibility in a timely manner;Be available, to the limit of his/her competences, to any other tasks assigned by the supervisor. As part of the Regional Communication Network, under technical guidance of the Regional Communication Office in FAO  RNE, and in association with the Sub-regional Office for North Africa (FAO / SNE)
Keep up-to-date the media list in Mauritania for communication purposes;Serve as a Digital communications and partnerships consultant for FAOMR and develop and disseminate press releases through FAO digital tools related to FAOMR;Liaise with the Regional Communication Office and the sub-regional office and OCC in communication and social media related tasks;Participate and represent FAO Mauritania in workshops related to Communication and digital strategy;Revise outgoing French translations for RNE website and FAOMR country webpage;Publish French releases on RNE website for FAOMR and the sub-regional office;Handle SOMI for FAOMR staff, in consultation with OCCI,” on this specific item:  Optimize Web Pages for site visitors and search engines. CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING 
Minimum Requirements
University Degree obtained in an institution/University accredited by UNESCO in Computer Sciences, Communication, social sciences or other relevant field;
Have at least 2 years’ experience in Digital Communication and partnerships and 4 years in communication or other relevant fieldHave a good command of French ( level C) , Arabic and English and Excellent oral and written communication skills in, Arabic ( level B) and English ( level C);Mauritanian nationality; FAO Core CompetenciesResults Focus
