Organizational Setting:
 The Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa (RNE) is responsible for leading FAO’s response to regional priorities for food security, agriculture and rural development through the identification, planning and implementation of FAO’s priority activities in the region. It ensures a multidisciplinary approach to programmes, identifies priority areas of action for the Organization in the Region and, in collaboration with departments and divisions at Headquarters, develops, promotes and oversees FAO’s strategic response to regional priorities.
RNE also advises on the incorporation of regional priorities into the Organization’s Programme of Work and Budget and implements approved programmes and projects in the region, monitors the level of programme implementation and draws attention to problems and deficiencies. RNE develops and maintains relations with region-wide institutions including the Regional Economic Integration Organizations (REIOs).
The Regional Office supports regional policy dialogue on food security, agriculture and rural development issues, facilitates the emergence of regional partnerships, and supports capacity development and resource mobilization for food security, agriculture and rural development in the region.
 Reporting Lines
 Under the overall technical guidance of the Office of Human Resources, the International PSA Subscriber reports to RNE Regional HR Officer.
 Tasks and responsibilities
 Under the overall supervision of the HR Officer of the Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa and in close collaboration with the HR Team of the HR Unit in Cairo, the incumbent will carry out the following duties:
Review, record, distribute and process incoming mail and correspondence for the HR Team.
Respond to HR requests for information within his or her delegated responsibility, or escalate requests to supervisor.
Provide information and assistance to supervisor to resolve problems and/or reach agreement on complex HR matters
Verify and ensure accuracy of HR documents for processing and/or for review by supervisor.
Manage vacancy announcements and prepare consultants’ contracts.
Update HR databases, corrects data, which do not maintain accuracy or integrity.  Maintain accurate and updated HR files, both electronic and hard copy.
Under the guidance of the Regional HR Officer, follow-up on pending actions and perform other HR duties as required. .
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
 Minimum Requirements
University degree in law, social/political science, psychology, business administration, or related area.
At least two years of experience in office support in the area of human resources management.
Working knowledge of English (level C)
Working knowledge of MS Office (Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel) and internet.
Additional Selection criteria
 Working experience in the UN System will be considered an asset.
Knowledge of FAO or UN personnel administrative procedures and systems will be considered an asset
Knowledge of another FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) will be considered an asset.
