OBJECTIVE
General ObjectiveThe objective of the study is to elaborate a sustainable development plan for the Mole National Park, through a participatory and all-inclusive approach, that takes into account environmental, economic and social development of the park and surrounded communities.  Specific objective(s)
The Specific Objectives of the study are the following:Use GIS technology to assess, identify and map digitally the main existing and needed infrastructures, cultural and historical sites for a proper sustainable development of the park.
Conduct a survey to assess the level of participation and involvement of the communities in the environmental governance and enterprises development around the park.Identify business opportunities and actions for the touristic and economic development and promotion of the park, as well as financing support for the implementation of the actions.Propose the content and develop a Mole National Park Development Plan.
EXPERTISE REQUIREDThe expertise required for the implementation of the specific contract is detailed below. 

Expert Sustainable Forestry/National Parks management and conservation – Team leader (TL) :
General description of the position:The Team Leader will be responsible for the smooth coordination and communication among the team of experts and the other stakeholders.TL will oversee planning, implementing and coordinating the activities related to this project. TL will also make sure the different outputs are delivered. TL will be the main contributor and will also act as support and complement to the work of the other experts. TL shall be an excellent communicator and manager, as he/she will need to liaise with relevant government ministries and will be responsible for a team of experts working in Protect Areas management. TL will be flexible and responsive to the needsof the Contracting Authority.Specifically, the TL will be responsible for:Managing the team of experts, and engagement with the Ghanaian government and with the main stakeholders on the project as necessary;Reporting on progress to the Technical Committee;Preparation and submission of Inception Report and Final Report;Participate and supervise all the implementing of the activities and deliverables to be achieved with the contract;Organisation and facilitation of the validation workshops;Organisation of the field work;Elaboration of the Development and Management Plan;Developing the legal brief summarising the findings of the review.
Expert category: Cat. I (>12 years of experience)
Qualifications and skills required:Completed at least a Master’s degree or equivalent in Management, Rural Development, Forestry Development or similar;Excellent knowledge of English;Excellent drafting, writing, editing, communication and presentation skills;Excellent communicator with good facilitation and negotiation skills.
General professional experience:At least 12 years of relevant professional experience;Experience in project management and implementation of consultancy assignments in the field of protect areas/national parks management;Good knowledge and experience of international best practices and standards in forest management and business creation;Experience in the development of protected areas management plans;Experience in managing teams of experts from different disciplines;Experience in briefing senior civil servants and policy-makers;Excellent skills and experience in drafting papers/proposals, reports, studies materials and guidelines.
Specific professional experience:Demonstrated relevant experience leading and/or participating in assignments of similar complexity and size in Ghana or in Africa,either in government, or in the private sector or in both, at relevant levels;Relevant experience in the elaboration of national parks management plans;Demonstrated working experience in Ghana and/or African countries.
Language skills: English
