Call for Proposals: Implementation of the Activities Under The Arab Region Programme on Good Land Governance in Support to Inclusive Development, Peace and Stability

On behalf of the Arab Land Initiative’s Partners, the Global Land Tool Network (GLTN) and UN-Habitat have launched a Call for Proposals to solicit interest from non-profit organisations from the Arab region to implement activities under the “Arab region programme on good land governance in support to inclusive development, peace and stability” funded by BMZ.

Priorities

The “Arab region programme on good land governance in support to inclusive development, peace and stability” has four priorities:

  • Land, women empowerment and socioeconomic development
    • Study on evidence-based linkages between access to land and socio-economic development and empowerment, especially for women
      • Budget: 40.000
    • Expert Group Meeting on Women’s Access to Land
      • Budget: 25.000
    • Two (2) training events on Women’s Access to Land
      • Budget: 50.000
  • Capacity and Knowledge Development
    • Capacity needs assessment on land governance in the Middle East; Review of the curricula in the region; Assessment of existing land governance related courses and institutions in the region and proposal of a work plan to complement and add value to existing efforts.
      • Budget: 70.000
    • Two (2) capacity development events on GLTN tools and other land tools
      • Budget: 50.000
    • Establishment of a research innovation fund for young professionals and practitioners

    • Translation of key materials

  • Fit-for Purpose Land Administration
    • Organisation of an Expert Group Meeting on Fit-for-Purpose Land Administration
      • Budget: 25,000
    • Two training events on Fit the contract -For-Purpose Land Administration
      • Budget: 50,000
  • Land, Natural Resources and Climate Change
    • Study on the linkages between land tenure security, land degradation and climate change
      • Budget: 40,000
    • Organisation of an Expert Group Meeting on Land and climate change
      • Budget: 25,000
    • Organisation of an Expert Group Meeting on Pastoral land and range land
      • Budget: 25,000
  • Land Professionals
    • Undertaking a capacity needs assessments of land professionals in the region
      • Budget: 20,000
    • Organisation of a knowledge exchange the contract event: Reflecting on the role of land professionals in the region and how to enhance it
      • Budget: 25,000
  • Baseline study on land related legal frameworks
    • Baseline for land tenure security and land governance in the region, including policies, laws, institutional frameworks
      • Budget: 40,000
  • Civil society
    • Knowledge exchange event: The role of civil society on land governance in the region
      • Budget: 25,000
  • Private sector
    • Knowledge exchange event: The role of private sector on land governance in the region
      • Budget: 25,000

Activities will be implemented in the coming 12 to 24 months through collaborations that will entail the contribution of complementary resources (e.g. human resources, knowledge, in-cash and in-kind contributions, supplies and/or equipment, etc.) by implementing partners.

Eligibility Criteria

Institutions and organisations applying for the implementation of one of the above-mentioned Agreements of Cooperation should comply with the following criteria of eligibility:

  • Be a registered non-profit organization (academic, civil society, intergovernmental and/or international organization).
  • Be based in one of the countries composing the Arab region (Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen).
