Length of contract6 months from 17th November 2019

The position:

Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director Program, you will be in charge to establish and maintain the quality, relevance, and measured scale of the Action Against Hunger FSL strategy and programmes in Jordan for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanian households in conformity with Action Against Hunger and international standards and national policies

More precisely you will be in charge to :

  • Review the orientation of the FSL strategy in line with the mid-term review of the Jordan country strategy, ensuring integration with other programmes and strong leadership on cross-cutting issues
  • Spearhead FSL programme development, including breaking into new or expanding on existing thematic areas of programming (potentially including social entrepreneurship, value chain development, employment linkages, and cash-based interventions) through evidence-based decision-making and within the frame of a gender analysis
  • Maintain Action Against Hunger’s position as a technically sound and well-informed actor in the FSL sector through inter-agency coordination as well as partnership development and management
  • Assess advocacy inroads and approaches on critical matters affecting FSL, in line with the humanitarian and development agendas in Jordan and Action Against Hunger’s global and regional positions and priorities
  • Build and reinforce the technical capacity of Action Against Hunger’s team in Jordan on the dimensions of FSL and its intersections with cross-cutting issues, particularly gender and environmental concerns

The applicant:

You have a Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, international development, or related field complemented by significant experience in resilience/livelihood-related field, at least 5 years of field experience with a humanitarian NGO in the FSL sector (candidates with less than 5 years of experience will not be considered)

You have an appetite to get more involved with gender and be part of a country-level change process of prioritising gender considerations.

You demonstrate an ability to provide professional technical advice in a broad range of FSL technical areas.

You also have strong technical and coordination experience, you are well known for your excellent interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, team player and communication skills.

You have strong capacity to work in tense conditions.

You are fluent in written and spoken English. Arabic will be consider as an asset.

Status:

Contract6 months fixed term contract under French legislation

Remuneration and benefits :

  • Monthly gross salary 1 805 € to 2 305 € upon experience.
  • Per diem and living allowance: 642 € (cf eurocost) net, field paid.
  • + 12 % of monthly gross salary as country allowance.
  • + 16% of monthly gross salary as reimbursement of retirement insurance for non-French citizen.
  • + Child allowance, limited to 5 children.

Transportation and accommodation:

  • Coverage of transportation costs to and in the mission.
  • Individual room in guesthouse covered

Medical coverage100% coverage of medical expenses + repatriation insurance. 

Leaves and RnR:

  • 25 days of paid leaves per year.
  • + 20 RnR per year.
  • + 215 € at each RnR period (averagely every 3 months – préciser si mission plus favorable).
  • Coverage of the transportation expenses to the RnR area of reference. 

Training :

  • Free and unlimited access to the certifying e-learning platform Crossknowledge ©.
  • Technical trainings at HQ or regional level (averagely 1 per year).
  • Intermission Workshop once a year.
  • Opportunity of coaching (DP) or mentorship.
  • Participation to external trainings costs upon eligibility of the request.
