PURPOSE OF POSITION
To facilitate transport and provide basic logistical support and ensure efficient and accountable/optimal use of the assets and resources including the use of vehicles as guided by WV Mission, Vision and core values
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

10 To keep vehicle and seat belts clean and functioning condition, and ensure vehicle tool kits (First aid kit, vehicle took kit and extinguishers) are in place. Vehicles are kept clean and have functioning tool kit all the time
10 Make sure that vehicle, motorbikes and generators’ supplies especially fuel and oils are readily available when required WV vehicles , motorbikes and generators function properly
5 Correctly complete and record movements, fuel and tires in vehicle logbooks. High level of compliance to audit recommendations and fleet standards
10 Service vehicles and support regular servicing of motorbikes and generators, and file records of services/repairs safely in an orderly manner. Excellent condition of vehicles , motorbikes and generators , and reduction of their repairs’ costs
5 Make sure all non-World Vision visitors read and sign the child protection during the pickup, and local partners transported in WVB vehicles sign “Note de déchargé de responsabilité “ Appropriate culturally interactions between WVB visitors with children
20 Transport of authorized passengers/luggage as per vehicle capacity and drive at allowablespeed limit. Accurate, efficient and excellent fleet service to staff and all other users in general.
5 Report any mechanical problem of a vehicle to supervisor for repair/spare parts replacement approval. Vehicles mechanical problems are repaired to keep vehicles in a very excellent condition
10 To support the Cluster/Area Program team in collecting quotations from suppliers and purchase of local items and supplies. Local items and supplies are purchased within a reasonable period that allows project/program timely implementation
5 Complete LPO for the supply of fuel Good tracking of fuel and vehicle repair’s costs on monthly basis
5 To organize and facilitate visitors’ schedules including booking for accommodation and transport Excellent organization of logistics support for visitors
5 Timely preparation and submission of monthly fuel consumption, vehicle, motorbikes repairs and generators’ reports. Regular quality reports to enable decision WVB office to take right decision
5 In collaboration with administration/fleet department make sure, vehicle and motorbikesregistration, insurance and other documents are valid at all times WVB compliance with local traffic code ,WVB policy and motor manufacturer’s instructions
5 Perform any other responsibility as may be assigned by supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-A diploma A3 (minimum ) in “Mécanique Automobile “
-Knowledge to drive Jeep 4×4 vehicle
-Basic skills in vehicle maintenance
-A minimum of 2 years proven driving experience
-Knowledge of driving in Burundi upcountry areas
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
-Must hold a valid driving license category “B”
-Basic vehicle mechanic skills
-Ability to communicate in French, Kirundi and some knowledge of basic English & Kiswahili
-Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all staff
-Aware of security issue and strategies of response to danger.
-Familiar with local road rules and travel routes in Burundi
-Must be punctual and able to keep up with time.
-Must attend devotions
-Maintain personal hygiene all the time
-Mechanic skills training
-Motorbike riding skills
-Reporting using excel and Microsoft Word
-Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Work Environment:
-Field based with frequent travels to communities and National office
-Travel : 90% Domestic travels to field/National office
-On call: 10% support on need basis.
