IS RECRUITING ANINTERN FOR ADVOCACY, CAMPAIGNS AND SAFEGUARDING UNIT



Unit: Advocacy, Campaign and Safeguarding
Location: World Vision West Africa Regional Office (WV WARO)/Dakar
Type of contract:Internship (Contrat de Stage)
Duration: 6months renewable

PROFIL:
INTERN FOR ADVOCACY, CAMPAIGNS AND SAFEGUARDING


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Provide support to the Regional Advocacy, campaigns and Safeguarding Advisor in her role to provide technical leadership and support to the West Africa Regional Office (WARO) and Field Offices in the West Africa Region in the area of Advocacy, campaigns and Safeguarding

Main tasks
• Support the documentation of evidence for advocacy purposes across 9 offices
• support national offices in harnessing and packaging CVA data for national and regional level Advocacy including influencing the production of government SDG VNR reports »
• Collaborate with the Communications unit to bring visibility to the ITAW campaign at strategic Calendar moments such as the Day of the African Child
• Support in the organization and documentation of Advocacy Response Group (ARG) meetings
• Identify and mobilize regional champions who will support the ITAW campaign
• Produce a monthly update of Advocacy work across the region
• Prepare, host and document virtual or in person Advocacy partner meetings organized by World Vision WARO
• Help Collate Annual Advocacy Strategic Measures (ASM) reports from Field Offices
• Participate in regional meetings, events and trainings as recommended by the Advocacy Advisor
• Prepare memos/summaries on key meetings and events for the Regional Advocacy Advisor
• Produce analytical reports of safeguarding trends across National offices on a quarterly basis
• Prepare national offices for the Annual Safeguarding Update reports preparations and submissions
• Arrange for annual Safeguarding training for all departments, units and sectors across the region

Competences, Qualifications and Attitudes
The following experiences and qualifications are required to apply for that position:
• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Public Policy, Development Studies or related area
• Proficient knowledge and use Application such as Excel, Power Point, Word
• Proficient at using the computer as a working tool
• Experience in Child Protection and participation would be an advantage
• Experience in social mobilization would be an advantage
• Passion for networking, coalition work and external engagement
• Strong writing skills in English and French
• Good at multi tasking
• Extensive knowledge in using various social media platforms such as twitter, Facebook, you tube
