Wipro Foundation launches Community Ecology Program in India

Wipro Foundation launches Community Ecology program which focuses on creating an ecological balance in their proximate communities by taking up projects that have direct tangible benefits to the disadvantaged communities as well as those that have a positive impact on the environment.

Thematic Areas
Water: Water Conservation & RWH, Watershed Program, Rejuvenation of Common Water Bodies: Canals, Lakes, etc. and WASH Intervention in Low-Income Settlements.
Waste and Pollution Management: Solid Waste Management in Low Income Settlements and Access to Social Benefits for Waste Pickers.
Ecosystem Services: Food and Agroforestry, Afforestation and Biodiversity.
Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation: Flood Risk Management, Urban Forests, Coastal Conservation and Landscape Restoration.
Guiding Principles
Projects that benefit proximate underprivileged communities
Project having an integrated approach towards ecological issues
Projects that positively impact the environment.
Eligibility Criteria
The 2022 Community Ecology grants are open for the following locations – Amalner (Jalgaon, Maharashtra), Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi and NCR, Haridwar, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Maheshwaram (South Hyderabad), Mumbai, Pune, Tumakuru (Karnataka) and Vizag.
