The Chief Accountant in our office in Dakar will be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, general ledger reviews, forecasting and budgeting.
The role
The specific responsibilities include:
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies
- Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Coordination with the Company’s enterprise data warehouse which will provide monthly inputs for the financial systems
- Maintain a detailed understanding of assigned business process areas
- Develop and maintain procedures around closing and consolidations
- Identify, document and implement further business and accounting workflows, policies and procedures
- Prepare documentation for External Auditors
- Assist with bank reconciliations and fixed assets
- Participate in and contribute positively to work/team environment
The requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Excel
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with different business stakeholders, clients, and teams
- 4+ years of accounting experience
